What image sizes can you post on Instagram in 2023?
Instagram Square photo size
Instagram’s standard photo size for feed posts and carousels is square, which is 1080px x 1080px (1:1 aspect ratio). You should always consider how your Instagram image will look in square preview, as this will always be the size of the preview image on your feed.
Instagram Portrait photo size
Instagram portrait dimensions are 1080px x 1350px (4:5 aspect ratio). This allows you to post slightly larger, rectangular images.
Instagram Landscape photo size
You can also post landscape images on Instagram, with dimensions of 1080px x 566px (1.91:1 aspect ratio).
Instagram Reels and Stories size
Whilst Instagram Reels allow you to choose a square thumbnail to represent your video in your feed, the dimensions for both Reels and Instagram Stories are 1080px x 1920px (9:16 aspect ratio).
What image sizes can you post on Facebook?
Facebook will resize your photos no matter what you upload so that the image is 500px wide, which is worth remembering when you upload, as you don’t want your photos to compress and the quality to decrease. Below are the ideal sizes you should upload per photo type, in order to maintain maximum resolution.
Facebook Horizontal photo size – Horizontal photos and photos you attach to a link you post should be 1200px x 630px (1.91:1 aspect ratio).
Facebook Portrait photo size – 1080px x 1320px
Facebook Stories – 1080px x 1920px (same as Instagram Stories and Reels!)
Facebook Carousel posts – 300px x 300px (square)
What image sizes can you post on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn’s platform suggests images with an aspect ratio between 3:1 and 2:3 and images with at least 552px x 368px. You can upload larger files by doubling the dimensions, which will ensure that your images don’t compress or reduce in quality size.
LinkedIn image size with posts that contain a link – 1200px x 628px (1.91:1 aspect ratio)
LinkedIn Landscape image size – 1104px x 736px
LinkedIn article cover image size – 2000px x 600px
What image sizes can you post on YouTube?
The ideal YouTube image thumbnail size is 1280px x 720px (16:9 aspect ratio) with a minimum width of 640px.
What image sizes can you post on Twitter?
If you want your full image to show in a Twitter timeline, your post needs to be at an aspect ratio of either 2:1 or 3:4. Take a look at the different image sizes for Twitter below.
Twitter Landscape image size – 1200px x 675px (16:9 aspect ratio)
Twitter Carousel image size – 1200px 675px (16:9 aspect ratio)
Twitter links that contain images – 800px x 418px (1.91:1 aspect ratio)
What image sizes can you post on Pinterest?
Pinterest recommends that images uploaded to the platform should be 1000px x 1500px or at a 2:3 aspect ratio. This is important to stick to, as Pinterest’s algorithm will penalize images that are low quality or too large.
What image sizes can you post on TikTok?
Although TikTok’s purpose is video content, you might find yourself uploading images to the software to include in your videos. And, when they aren’t the right size, your image will either appear with a large border around it or too zoomed in.
If you are uploading images to a TikTok video, make sure the ratio is 1080px x 1320px (9:16 aspect ratio).
