It’s the Remix, baby! Instagram has officially rolled out their Remix feature to ALL video content on their app—yes, that means you can start remixing both Reels and feed posts videos. Before Remix was limited to Reels but with the newest rollout, brands and creators can now add their own spin to anyone’s video meaning more opportunities for collaboration opportunities!
What is the Instagram Remix feature?
A remix is a way for users to add their reaction to another user’s video (think: Dueting on TikTok—it’s the exact same thing).
In a statement from Instagram, they said they have “been watching how creators use Remix to add a new spin, share their reaction or collaborate in a side-by-side Reel. Now, we’re taking Remix to the next level with more videos for creators to choose from and endless ways to get inspired.”
Lots of creators are using Remix quite a bit on the app, and now with the feature being opened up to all videos, it’s going to be interesting to see how people engage with all videos!
How do you Remix an Instagram Video?
It’s super easy! All you need to do is:
- Select the Instagram Video you want to remix. If the user has the Remix feature enabled on their video, you can remix it!
- Tap the menu on the side and select “Remix this video.”
- Record your video and/or upload a video from your camera roll.
- Edit and trim (the Remix can only be 60 seconds!)
- Upload!
See, it really is very easy!
How to enable or disable Instagram Remix on Your Instagram Account
If you’re wanting people to Remix your videos, make sure Remix is enabled on your Instagram. At the moment, Instagram enables all videos to be Remixed, but if you ever want to change that, here’s what you can do:
- Go to your account settings.
- Select “Privacy” and “Reels and Remix”
- Either toggle the switch on or off depending on whether you want them enabled or disabled.
We’re curious if you like the Remix feature and will be using it on your account? Let us know over on Instagram!
