The time has come to level up your in-app analytics and get all the details (and more!) you’ve always wanted. Over the past few months, we’ve been working on different tools to help users get the most out of their Instagram analytics. When it comes to figuring out what’s working for your strategy, having the most detailed analytics possible is a must. After launching Open Benchmarks*, we decided to bring even more changes to your analytics on Flick with our new Internal Benchmarks analytics tool. With Internal Benchmarks, you’ll be able to:
- See even more details over a longer period. Instead of comparing your analytics over the past 7 to 30-day time period, you can now compare your metrics from up to a year ago! No more trying to track down analytics you had from a year ago to compare, you’ll be able to do it all with a click of a button.
- Check out how your account compares to others! With our Benchmarks tool, you’ll be able to easily compare how your Instagram account stacks up against others of a similar following than you.
- You’ll be able to figure out if your increase or decrease in your Instagram performance is due to your strategy or a common pattern across Instagram. Is everyone’s engagement increasing/decreasing? Or is it just yours? From Internal Benchmarks, you’ll be able to better compare and analyze your performance.
- Find new areas where your Instagram is killing it or could use some work. With the new detailed analytics and Benchmarks options, you’ll be able to have an even better understanding of which area your Instagram strategy could improve.

Now that we launched Benchmarks, we thought to ourselves: How can we make this even more focused and user-specific? Enter: Internal Benchmarks.
Internal Benchmarks will help you dive deeper into the analytics you already look at on a day-to-day basis. Instead of getting a basic overview of how your account is performing, Internal Benchmarks will pull the same data from Open Benchmarks and help you get a more detailed look over a longer period of time and will show you how your Instagram stacks up against others.
But how does it do this? Well…
With Internal Benchmarks, you’ll experience an even more detailed breakdown of the analytics you already pull. Making sure that you have the most up-to-date and accurate information possible when it comes to your analytics is incredibly important, especially if you’re a content creator, small business, or social media manager. We are bringing you expanded hero metrics that will allow you to see your analytics in even more detail than ever before.
When you view your analytics, instead of only being able to pull analytics from the past month, you’ll be able to pull data and track metrics over a more extended period of time. Want to know how your metrics track over a year-long period? You can now view that and even more in our hero metrics by clicking the “expand” icon on the analytics page (as indicated in the image below!).
You’ll also be able to easily see how your live analytics compare to the Benchmarks by clicking our new “Similar Accounts” button on the Analytics page. Instead of the analytics comparing the metrics from a previous period, the similar accounts feature overlays your analytics over our Benchmarks live tool. You’ll be able to quickly and easily compare your live data to other accounts that are like yours and see where your metrics are rocking it and where you could be focusing more of your attention.
By being able to compare how other accounts are doing against yours, this tool will help you determine if the increase or decrease in your Instagram performance is due to an Instagram issue, or if you should rethink your content strategy.
