Congrats! And welcome to Flick. You’ve made it. Now if you’re asking yourself what you’ve gotten yourself into, let us explain. We’ve created a short and detailed guide on all things Flick and how it can help you! Just by opening and reading this page, you’ve taken a massive step forward in improving your Instagram results. Yes, seriously. Scroll through and you’ll find out exactly what you need to do to make sure you get the most out of hashtags … and Flick.
Before we jump straight into what to do, it’s important to understand the why. Why should you use Flick? If you were to ask one of the 15,000+ creators and brands on our platform, they’d probably highlight 3-4 of the reasons below.

Start building your first Collection of hashtags

Before you start worrying about making your hashtags the best they can possibly be, breathe. Don’t worry about making them absolutely perfect right now, as you’ve got all the time in the world to optimize them later!
Start by searching a keyword that’s related to your content (i.e. say you’re running an Instagram account for your cute Bengal cat, make your keyword “bengalcat” to find related hashtags). Once new keywords populate, start adding the most relevant hashtags into a Collection. Not only can you add up to 30 hashtags (and we highly recommend adding 30!), you can also name each of your collections based on the content.
Now that you’ve created your Collection, let’s take it up a notch. Get the most out of your hashtags by adding Smart Filters to your search. With Smart Filters, you can make sure you’re using hashtags that are likely to provide the best results for your posts (and that’s what you really want!).

Make some searches using Custom or ‘Smart’ filters

While we make it super easy and convenient to find hashtags, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should use every hashtag you see! Yes, we know you want to reach the most amount of people possible, but it’s important that you use hashtags that are suitable for your account size and make sense to the post you’re making. You’re not going to tag #crazy4cats on a photo of a sunset. It wouldn’t make sense! When it comes to finding the right hashtags for your account, it’s all about experimentation.
The best way to make sure your hashtags are suitable for your account? Our handy dandy “Smart Filters” feature. Using your accounts size and engagement levels, Flick will filter out the hashtags that appear in your search results that might be a little too large or too small.
