TikTokās new app is almost here š® |
It seems like TikTok is working overtime to get its new app up and running and we officially have a name for the new app: Ā
TikTok Notes āØ Ā Weird name, but okie dokie! Or, is it a play on Instagramās very own āNotesā? š¤ Ā Users are now getting a pop up on TikTok to share their static images to TikTokās new app. Ā According to the pop up, āTikTok Notes, a new app for photo posts, is coming soon. Your existing and future public TikTok photo posts will be shown on TikTok Notes.ā Ā The video-only platform has been pushing for photos in the app and with its new photo-app, it looks to be working harder than ever to make Instagram less relevant. Ā Will it work? Does anyone care? Does anyone really want to download another social media app?! |

Threads wants to make you some money š¤ |
We knew it wouldnāt be long before Threads started attempting to pay creators. Ā Mainly because it wants more users on the platformāduh! Ā Last week, it was reported that Meta is now looking to trial a āThreads Bonus Programā to help top creators create income ā¦ but also keep creators on the app. š Ā How will this work? According to Meta: Ā āEligible creators can earn money from Threads content based on the āperformanceā of posts or the ānumber of postsā shared to the app. Threads posts with āless than 2,500 eligible viewsā are not eligible for payouts.ā Ā If that sounds familiar, itās because it is familiar. Meta did something similar when Reels first rolled out. Ā So want to get paid for your Threads? Start creating engaging content more often. Ā Easier said than done. š¬ |

Size doesnāt matter to Instagram š«£ |
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, took to Threads last week with a huge (hehe) announcement: Ā Follower size doesnāt matter. Ā Quel shock! Ā
To dig deeper into it, Mosseri explained, āFollower counts matter less than view and like counts. I understand why people focus so much on follower counts; theyāre prominent and theyāre easy to find. But if you want to get a sense for how relevant an account is, look at how many likes they get per post and how many views per reel instead.ā Ā 1. No, duh. 2. If thatās the case, why do people need a certain number of followers to get paid on the platform? Ā Hmm, Mosseri? Hmm? |
