The time has come to see what’s working and what isn’t. In this section, you’ll see how to analyze your hashtag performance and understand which hashtags are bringing you the best results.

So, you've made your 8 posts and it's now time to look at their performance (although we have a feeling you've probably been checking in on it before now anyway!) First, we’re going to explain exactly how we calculate the different hashtag groups so you have all the understanding you need, when you’re reading your results:

  1. Flick will take all of your hashtag usage and group hashtags into 'high, medium & low performance' using an ‘efficiency score’ - We calculate this by looking at the position you ranked in, how long you were ranking in it for and the size of the hashtag.


  1. This means, ranking in the 'top 9' isn't always the best outcome, if you can rank in position 15 on a popular or larger hashtag, you may be reaching more people than being in position 3 of a smaller hashtag.


  1. This is the start of creating your larger hashtag strategy. You should continue to add new hashtags to your Collections, remove hashtags that were in low-level performance for you, and keep using hashtags to gather more accurate data on what works for your account.

Spot trends and take action with quality performance data. See the hashtags that have a high efficiency score - What is the DAPC, what are the AVG likes, what size are the hashtags that performed best for you? Consider these insights when you continue to search for new hashtags, so that you finetune your process. You can test which hashtags work the best, and start to predict what will be high-level performers for your account.
